HUNT POLICIES AND GENERAL INFORMATION
Fair Chase: As every hunter knows, there are no guarantees in hunting. I want everyone to understand that "WE ARE NOT SELLING YOU A DEER WE ARE SELLING YOU A HUNT". Our deer are 100% wild and unfortunately some folks are going to go home empty handed.
Antler Restrictions and Management Plan: conjunction with our philosophy of not hunting until the time is right we also do everything we can to protect our immature bucks. Bucks reach maturity at 4.5 yrs. of age and that is our target age. We have been very fortunate to attract a group of hunters that believe in our philosophy. Because our rebooking rate is so high we believe that our hunters feel that it is an investment in their own hunting future to pass on our immature bucks.
While our goal is to harvest 4.5 yr. old bucks we do have an antler minimum of 130" . WE DO HAVE A FINE OF $500.00 FOR SHOOTING A BUCK UNDER THE 130" MINIMUM.
Draw Blood Policy: Everyone that hunts will wound a deer at some point during their hunting career. We understand this. With that said before a guest can resume his or her hunt we must be given time to recover any deer shot that has left sign of a hit (hair, blood, etc.) We have great tracking dogs and they're awesome at what they do. If your deer is dead we will find it. If we find sign of a hit the hunter will not resume hunting for 24 hrs. In the event a second wounding occurs your hunt is over.
Weather: Unfortunately we have no control over Mother Nature, so the best avenue to take concerning the weather is “be prepared”. Kentucky is notorious for being a transitional state. It’s where things happen. Fronts make it through and that brings us the possibility of severe weather, torrential rain, snow and of course “wind”. The wind and associated weather will affect us more so than the deer. They are used to it and they will carry out their normal daily routines.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE MADE FOR CANCELLED HUNTS FOR ANY REASON. NO RATE REDUCTIONS OR EXTRA DAYS WILL BE GIVEN IF HUNTERS LEAVE BEFORE THE CONCLUSION OF THEIR HUNT DUE TO PERSONAL OR WEATHER RELATED ISSUES. We recommend you consider purchasing a trip insurance policy in the event you are unable to make your trip due to work, injury, illness, etc.
Safety Harnesses: All of our stands are setup with a life line that extends from the ground to the stand and everybody will be required to wear a safety harness and to use the life lines. The system is very simple and effective and the life that it saves might be yours. We all owe it to our loved one’s to be as safe as possible while we’re in the outdoors so that we can return home safe and sound.
Hunters are responsible for processing their deer: At camp we have a skinning rack, cutting table and freezer space. If you do not wish to process your deer there is a processor nearby. Hunters are responsible for processing fees.
Some states will not allow re-entry with an animal carcass that has the skull attached (CWD) and in that case we have a taxidermist nearby that will fully cape your buck for a fee.
